Welcome Letter
Hello Everybody!
It was time to create a new web page. Much has happened since I last published, so to catch you up, the following pages will reflect the major changes that have occurred over the past two years.
Hitting sixty was interesting. Suddenly I needed replacement parts (specifically a new hip)! This had me reconsider how I was doing my business. I've had an incredible run of creating water features over the past twenty five years, yet it was rather obvious that physically I could not continue to run at the same pace. So with some reluctance, I have greatly reduced the number of projects I take on. I will work with clients I enjoy, projects that have a heart to them, and projects with which I can teach the greatest number of people about how to create great environments. In the meantime, it is important for me to download all that has been learned to save my readers from making the same mistakes I did over the past years--thus the new web site.
This web site is a work in progress. It will include photographs of recent projects, and before and after shots that graphically point out both what not to do and how to create great water features. All the photos show the variety of ways that the water element was added to reflect the site and the talents and inclinations of the new owners. Many also highlight the sustainable aspect of a water feature versus other landscaping that is inherently much more demanding on our resources (water in particular).
Coming soon -- Articles written for various national and local publications, which have garnered interest in some unexpected circles and have generated a number of speaking and teaching opportunities both within industries that use water features and a number of organizations that are more interested in how to create great environments both internally and with others. Many have encouraged me to start a blog on this site, so as my tech support person (that would be my wife Kathy) works with me, look for it in this location or its own page.
Finally, I'll soon be venturing into ebooks, starting with a publication on how to create your own water feature. The ebook will include several ways of accessing the information, from text and sketches to diagrams, photos of the piece itself, and video clips to help you tune and create certain sounds. I will be adding to this slowly as I am currently completely booked with installations through 2012.
I hope you enjoy perusing the following pages and come away with lots of ideas for how to better your own physical and personal environments.
